“We never planned on any of this," says front woman Emily about being in an up and coming band. But when somebody is born for a purpose, whether you are looking for it or not, it finds them.

This is the case for new alternative pop, rock band Shine Bright Baby. Hailing from the sleepy town of Orrville, Ohio, they made it their mission to shine a light into the darkness. Formed in la te 2007, Shine Bright Baby became quickly renowned for their manic stage show, which highlights the band’s love for having fun all while sharing their hearts for other young people, encouraging them to find God's plan for their lives. Members, Emily (lead vocals), Nathan (guitar/programming), Josh (guitar/vocals), Hudson (bass) and Karl (drums), are indeed young, as the band's age ranges from 18-22. "We found where God's wants us to be right now, and we want to share that journey with other kids. There are so many people searching for fulfillment and purpose in this world, we are here to point them to Jesus for that." says Emily.

Beyond their hearts, the music is nothing less than refreshingly fun. Layered guitar work and thick dance-able grooves create the perfect pop-rock backdrop for Emily's impressive vocals to soar. Coming from different musical backgrounds, variety is a forte of SBB’s, but one crucial element they all have in common is the heart for worshipping God through music. It is this passionate performing and honest songwriting that gained them a quick fan base and the title "Ohio's New Kids of Rock". Tireless online promotion and touring (with a handful of festival appearances) helped Shine Bright Baby win scores of followers before they even recorded one note of their Tooth & Nail/BEC Recordings full-length debut. Their love for their fans radiates from the stage and clearly distinguishes them from the slews of other bands. It was this kind of performance and genuineness that first caught the attention of the legendary label in 2009. “Growing up, some of my favorite bands were on this label, so we are really excited to be a part of this family. We’ve worked really hard on these new songs to make something that we love and we know our fans will love.” Guitarist Nathan expresses his anticipation for the great things to come. It is only a matter of time until the depth and range of their talents are unveiled for eager ears worldwide.

“The name, Shine Bright Baby, comes out of the passage in Philippians 2 that says, ‘…so you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked in depraved generation in which you shine like bright lights.’ Emily explains, “And also in Ephesians 5, ‘Live as children of light and find out what pleases the Lord.’ We are here to bring joy to the heart of God, we are children of light; we are Shine Bright Baby. “
